Sofiya Svinkovskaya is an Associate at KNOETZL specializing in international arbitration. Before joining KNOETZL in 2016, she worked for a large, multinational firm covering the CEE and SEE as a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Sofiya also teaches a mediation and negotiation course at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna.
Sofiya’s work focuses on international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations administered under the ICC, VIAC and ICSID Rules. She is experienced in disputes involving investment protection under bilateral and multilateral investment treaties, construction and engineering, gaming, and international sale of goods.
Sofiya holds a law degree from the University of Vienna with a specialization in arbitration, private international law, public international law and alternative dispute resolution. During her studies, Sofiya participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the IBA-VIAC CDRC Negotiation and Mediation competition. She also attended the Hague Academy of International Law and holds a practice diploma from the Austrian Arbitration Academy.
Sofiya is a member of various professional associations such as Young ICCA, ICC YAAF, YIAG, YAAP and MAA.
