A full house, a hot topic and a very dynamic discussion – what a better way to kick off the second day of Vis Moot? Together with the ITA Europe Task Force, KNOETZL hosted a panel on one of the most pressing issues in e arbitration world today: sanctions.

Niamh Leinwather (VIAC), Rostislav Kats (Wolters Kluwer Legal and Regulatory), Ann Ryan Robertson  (Troutman Pepper Locke LLP) and Florian Haugeneder (KNOETZL) explored under the skilful moderation of Cosmin Vasile (ZRVP) how sanctions are reshaping key aspects of international arbitration, from the constitution of the arbitral tribunal, the payment of arbitrators and institutions, contractual remedies to enforceability. The panel discussed practical and legal challenges and shared insights into the handling of sanctions by arbitrators, institutions, counsel, and parties.
