We had a full house at the very recent YAAP – Young Austrian Arbitration Practitioners Roundtable held by Arnela Maglić, Benjamin Weber, and Cristina Rodríguez Bados. The discussion on “Evidence beyond the hearing room – site visits and judicial assistance in aid of arbitration” led to an engaging exchange on the requirements and benefits of site visits, with both panelists and attendees sharing their perspectives.

Many participants highlighted the value that site visits can offer for tribunals in helping to gain a better understanding of the case and establish the facts. Seeing the site first-hand and raise questions with technical experts on site, is often a valuable part of the fact-finding process when technical issues become relevant to resolve the case.
