Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Division of the Austrian FMA

Bettina Knoetzl delivered a keynote speech during a strategy retreat organized by the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Division of the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA), sparking a broad and introspective discussion on the topic of “Where Does Austria Stand in the Fight Against Corruption?”. The participants explored the effective measures against corruption and money laundering and what still needs to be done to secure Austria’s reputation as a fair and transparent business location.
Bettina’s keynote went beyond the role and impact of anti-corruption indices and public perception, introducing the more analytical “fraud triangle”, to foster a better understanding how fraud, corruption, and money laundering can be prevented.
Many thanks for a fruitful discussion and making one more step forward in fighting corruption.
